Alliance Discriminatoin
I was sitting in HA today "shock war LFG" When all of a sudden it hit me, why dont I type in alliance chat "Hey guys would anyone mind coming to HA and we can run balanced, R-spike, or B-spike." Well less than 10 second later i get a whisper which says from the alliance leaders clan, "Please do not advertise yourself unless you are R3"This hit me like WHOA. (My guild has the most Kurzick faction of anyone in the alliance we make up about a third of it.)
The first thing i do is present the counter that Rank means nothing, I could of Iwayd to get any amount of rank or fame possible. Then one of my guildmates, whispered me and said not to push the topic that they only want R3
I presented my argument to him/her and they told me to get on ventrilo, so i came on and presented my argument in a calm controlled voice, and eventually i made the point that, if they only want R3 then I only want to farm or do missions with experience equal or over 1000000. When i typed this in alliance i got flak, yet they did not get flak for R3 Discrimination why cant i discrim against experience?
Was i wrong or was the alliance?

I was arguing (Teh Aise of Spaids) about rank meaning nothing.
In Talk in the international district (Trying to get an IWAY with NO experience whatsoever of it....me that is).
It's really funny how many people continue to demand rank while being openly slandered.
But the alliance dude is in the wrong. You could do TONS of PvP outside HA, and be good. But if you don't have a simple emote/title, someone who bought their account has more chance than you.

Exactly i live in team arenas, and I accidentally spelled discrimination wrong.
Also I think that should not be accepted in an alliance where the guild person you are leaving out, is a member of the highest faction guild in the alliance.

It's been happening since the first person got their rank 3. Live with it, get in a non crap alliance that doesn't rely on rank to get in a group, and move on. Nothing's going to change in people's opinions about the importance of rank unless they actually take it upon themselves to change their minds. I agree that rank is an idiotic metric of skill because you cannot lose fame. If you lost fame for losing and fame and rank actually became a rating-like figure, it would be a much more accurate mark of skill. Well, I take that back. That would be true only if Hall of Heroes didn't have a crappy victory condition. THEN, rank would actually be useful for determining a player's skill. Wait, I take that back. You can always buy a rank x account. Let's face it: RANK IS USELESS.

But yeah rank is rather pointless i know some rank 0 who are better then the rank 9 ive seen around. And r3+ groups well 90% of the time they dont really know what their doing.

Wow, sounds like your alliance members are complete @$%#&ers.
I have recently moved guilds, so can't comment on my current alliance, but the previous one (Pen, Stfu, WTB, BITE, WL et al) were absolutely fantastic. People were always advertising in alliance chat that they were running HA groups and any alliance member was free to join the group as long as they had the unlocks to play the position(s) needed, regardless of rank or guild.

Regardless of the usefullness of rank, in case you want to get to rank 3 by playing the builds you've mentioned, your alliencemembers should help you IMO. It's also in their interest cause you'll get more expierenced in pvp with the builds you've played till that time. It looks like a 1337 attitude of your alliencemembers only willing to play with r3+ ppl from their own allience in HA.

Offtopic, but good to get your alliance together if your not rank 3+.

Ok this was invented by my guild in a moment of boredom.
Basically you need a wide open guild hall, I recommend imperial isle.
You form two teams, every player rolls a Me/E with 16 fast cast and 12 air. Each player takes 5 superior runes (105 HP.)
Players only have 4 skills, lightening orb, air attune, elemental attune, windborne.
Basically players must stay on their sides of the flag stand, crossing the flag stand is cheating! (as explained by orthrus in the end of the video.). Players toss orbs at eachother, 1 orb = instant kill.
The last team left standing wins.
Orbs can be dodged by moving at the right time, the game is good practice at dodging projectiles and kiting.
Winning enough times will DP out the other team and the game will award a victory.

When were bored in my alliance we just play dodgeball. "Dodgeball in 10 minutes. Meet in STD guild hall." We get on vent hang out its nice for getting people together and make friends in your alliance.

Other fun little game; get 8 people together in a Guild Scrim on monks. They are allowed a +5 energy sword/axe with a Vampiric Hilt, and a focus. No skills on their bar but Infuse Health. First person to die wins.

Im r4, but completely stopped playing HA months ago, because of rank advertisements. Sorry, i have no desire to farm with IWAY, and my friends list is not that big. As far as i remember, when i won HoH i was like r2.. maybe even r1 i dont remember anymore, but definitely nothing uber-experienced. It was with guildies more or less, sure, but that shows that my low rank didnt stop them from getting HoH. I pvped alot, but it was mostly TA. I can play alot of builds, but getting in non-iway HA teams would be too tedious for me, so i just dont even bother anymore.
btw, (to the OP) your guild should be supportive to you when it comes to HA, regardless of your rank (unless of course they say u need to practice pvp abit, which is possible). But, your alliance is a different story. They just dont care about you or your guild. They want faction. Sorry but this is how most alliances work. Not all, some r nice n basically a group of friendly guilds. Unfortunately, Gaile wants us all in 100-people guilds, in 10-guild alliances. She loves that, but it sucks because it just makes u a farmer. No personality, nothing. I'd say dont complain about your alliance. I just dont see a point in such alliance tho.

Yea that's cool, but it's difficult to find decent alliance. Most people are by default greedy selfish bunch. When they are r6+, their sense of uberness prevents them from taking into group someone of lower rank.

Yes, you are.
What does an alliance mean if you don't play with each other?

No one was wrong , if your alliance have those rules or the guy who made the group dont want unraked people that is fine.
You can try to convice them that is unfair or stupid or just leave them.
